Organisation Description:

This is a non-profit, para-church organisation serving refugees in two European countries. Most of their volunteers are from a Mennonite background and are typically in their late teens or early twenties. They are committed to equipping volunteers to provide relief and hope to displaced people.

Job Description:

The role involves supporting the on-going work of the community centre, which exists to provide a homely, restful environment for refugees who live at the nearby camp. We try to model Christ-like behaviour and attitudes to our refugee friends, and we are ready to answer their spiritual questions. Volunteers will get the opportunity to serve, witness, and lead devotions. The volunteer will be mentored by long-term partners and will serve in a small team alongside other young volunteers.

Person Description:

The candidate will be between 18-30 years of age, will have a committed relationship with Jesus and be an active member of a church that approves of and supports their ministry. They will have a heart for refugees, mostly from a Muslim background, and a passion to pass on God’s love holistically. They will enjoy working in a team, will speak English and be willing to learn German. They will be proactive, quick to serve, and generous with hospitality. The ability to speak any other language, particularly Farsi, Arabic or Turkish, would be a huge advantage.
